Beehive Removal in the Temecula Valley

Once there is comb, the bees have moved in for good and honey is already building up behind it. That changes what the job takes and how it has to be done.

Why call now
Comb keeps growing.

Bees that have built comb are staying put. The sooner we get there, the less comb there is to take out.

Live removal
Save the bees when safe.

We remove the bees alive whenever it's safe to do so.

Availability
Weekends included.

A hive spotted on Saturday does not have to wait for Monday, and the estimate is still free.

Local crew
Based in Murrieta.

Our home office is in Murrieta. Temecula, Menifee, Lake Elsinore and Wildomar are part of our regular service area too.

The bees leave alive. The honey and comb leave with them.

Comb out, cavity cleared, nothing left behind to draw the next colony in.

Is this your job?

Is this an established hive?

Comb is the giveaway on this one. If you can see wax and not just bees, read on.

You can see wax comb, not just bees.

Comb means the colony has settled in and is building. That is a hive, not a swarm passing through.

The hive is out in the open: a branch, a shed, a meter box, under an eave.

Open hives are the straightforward version, and the photo tells us most of what we need.

There is dripping honey, or a stain spreading on a surface.

Dripping honey means the comb is big and has been up there a while. Call sooner rather than later on that one.

Process

From first call to bee-free, in four simple steps.

Hive removals are bigger jobs, and they run in the same order every time.

Straight answers on cost

What moves the price on a hive job

How big the hive is and where it sits decide the price, so the estimate is a range. These are the reasons behind it.

4 cost factors

Size of the hive

How much comb is actually in there. What you can see is usually less than what is behind it.

Access

What has to be reached, opened or moved before anyone can get a hand on the comb.

How long it has been established

Time means more comb, more honey and more weight sitting on the structure.

Cleanup and sealing

What it takes to leave the spot clean and closed so it does not draw the next colony.

"We had a swarm of bees take up residence in a wine barrel on our front porch. The bees stayed outside the barrel for a day and then moved inside. I called a few beekeepers in the area, but ultimately went with Chris because he was able to do a live removal, while preserving my barrel."

"I had a bee hive at the house. I called in the morning and they came the same day in the afternoon. They did a great job, really professional, we really appreciate the extra honey left behind"

"I went with the live removal to save the bees, over the Other guys who just throw in smoke bombs and close up the holes. No Bumps or bruises. Cleaned and patched up all the holes without asking and haven’t had a bee issue since."

Questions

Questions about beehive removal

Have a hive question these do not answer? Call and ask, advice is free.

How do I know it is a hive and not a swarm? +

A swarm is a bare cluster of bees with nothing built yet, and it often moves on within a day or two. A hive has wax comb you can see, and the bees come and go with purpose rather than sitting in one mass. If there is comb, treat it as a hive and get it looked at.

Do you kill the bees? +

No. Bee Removal Pros does live, humane removal: the colony is taken out alive and relocated rather than exterminated. That is the whole reason to call a bee company instead of a general exterminator, and it is how we work in this valley.

Does the comb have to come out too? +

Yes, wherever it can be reached. Comb left behind holds honey that keeps seeping, and the scent of it is what draws the next colony to the same spot. Taking the bees and leaving the comb is the usual reason people end up calling about bees twice.

How long does a hive removal take? +

An open, reachable hive often comes out in a single visit. How much comb is in there and how hard it is to reach decide the hours.

Will bees come back to the same spot? +

Not the same colony, but a new swarm can find the same spot. Before we leave we point out the gaps worth closing so it is a harder place to move into.
