Will the swarm leave on its own? +
Often, yes. A resting swarm is between homes and plenty of them move on within a day or two. The problem is the other outcome: the scouts find a wall, a soffit or a chimney nearby and the whole cluster moves in, which turns a simple collection into a structural job.
Is a swarm dangerous? +
A swarm with no comb and no brood to defend is usually calm, but it is still thousands of bees and nobody should be poking at it. Keep people and pets back, do not spray it and do not try to knock it down. Call and let someone in a bee suit deal with it.
What happens to the bees? +
They leave alive. We box the swarm with its queen and take it to a local apiary. We do not exterminate honey bees.
How long does swarm removal take? +
Usually one to two hours on site. A reachable cluster comes down quickly, and height or an awkward spot adds time.
Can you remove a swarm from a car or a trailer? +
Yes. It is the same collection as one on a branch. Leave the vehicle where it is and call. Driving off with a cluster on board is not worth the risk to you or the bees.
